Once the most isolated and presently one of the poorest nations in Europe, Albania is experiencing a lack of social opportunity, leading to a crisis of emigration.
Global significance of Albania
Albania is a key country within the critical geopolitical zone of the Balkans. As one of the poorest and historically most isolated countries in Europe, it has the potential to become a new frontier for art and culture, much like Berlin after the Wall. Its complex past, recent isolation, and undeveloped nature provide the ideal circumstances for the creation of a new global cultural hub.
Collaboration
As our first project, the Albanian International Artist Residency is collaborating with government, philanthropic organizations and private enterprise to develop Albania as a global center for art and culture, inspiring social and economic development.
Capacity Building
Through collaborative artistic endeavors, our goal is to reshape global perceptions of Albania. Encouraging sustainable urban regeneration and fostering international awareness, investment, and societal change through workshops, social events, exhibitions, and talks, exposing audiences to innovative ideas and perspectives.
